LIMA - Hotel B, Arts Boutique

To speak of Relais & Châteaux is to speak of a unique experience, where you can live the local history and culture in an exclusive, personalized fashion. In Peru, we have four hotels and one restaurant that are part of the collection, which allows for the creation of a travel itinerary using these properties in our most representative destinations.

Having traveled extensively through Peru, I can say without a doubt that each one of the Relais & Châteaux properties best reflects, in perfect harmony, the sensations, hospitality and haute cuisine of each region.

Below I describe each one of these properties, and I invite you to check out the following itinerary designed especially for this collection

Arts Boutique Hotel B (member of Relais & Chateaux since 2013). Located in Lima, in the bohemian neighborhood of Barranco, by the Pacific Ocean, this hotel was built in the Belle Époque in the 1920s. Its charm comes from the way it was built, with marble, exotic wood, and a white façade adorned with columns, balconies and high ceilings that light up the open skylights. An exceptional piece of architecture. With 17 rooms, this property is next to one of the city’s main art galleries (Lucia de la Puente), and near the neighborhood's main attractions: the Mario Testino photography exhibition center (MATE), the Osma Museum, the Bridge of Sighs, etc.

Astrid & Gastón – considered one of the best restaurants in the world (number 35 on the San Pellegrino list) and the best in Latin America (according to UK magazine Restaurant). Its menu presents an innovative approach, drawing inspiration from Peruvian biodiversity and tradition. In March 2014 the restaurant will move to a new location at Casa Moreyra, an 18th century estate.

La Casona Inkaterra, a member of Relais & Châteaux since 2010, is an exquisite 16th Century colonial mansion which was one of the first Spanish-built structures in Cusco, and is now an exclusive boutique hotel.  It has been carefully restored to conserve its historic heritage and décor. Its suites are arranged around a Spanish courtyard, offering sober elegance without sacrificing the location’s authenticity. It is located in Plazoleta Nazarenas, a small square located a few steps away from Cusco’s Plaza de Armas, and has 11 suites.

Inkaterra Machu Picchu Suites. The paths invite you to discover a paradise of ferns and orchids, which include one of the most beautiful collections in the world, in addition to several species of birds and butterflies. Further out, the sacred places of the Incas are waiting to reveal their secrets. After a day of exploration in Machu Picchu citadel, you will appreciate the comfort and genuine charm of the villas, enjoying the warmth of the chimney fire, the natural treatments inspired in Andean spirituality, or a gourmet dinner in the restaurant with a view of the river. Inkaterra Machu Picchu Suites has been a member of Relais & Châteaux since 2013.

Titilaka, a member of Relais & Châteaux since 2013. Located on a private peninsula at the edge of the water, it offers a splendid view of the lake from each one of its room, as well as the harmonizing framework of a contemporary décor that integrates local tradition, and direct contact with the wild nature surrounding the hotel. Located near the village of the same name, Titilaka’s guests will also discover the way of life and traditions of the lake’s inhabitants. During your journey, enjoy the impressive mountain landscape, perfectly punctuated by small indigenous villages and herds of llama and vicuña. As you arrive in Puno, prepare to be surprised by the beauty and enormity of legendary Lake Titicaca, the origin of the great Inca empire.
