Libertador Palacio del Inka enter a new stage

The Libertador hotel chain is preparing to finish the remodeling project of its Palacio del Inka hotel located in the city of Cusco. Once concluded, it will become the second luxury hotel the company operates in that region, along with Tambo del Inka, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa.

Palacio del Inka boasts 36 years as a favorite among travelers who are looking for a prime location in the city of Cusco as well as excellent service.

The hotel faces the Santo Domingo Church and the Koricancha and sits just 4 blocks from the Main Square. The original structure was a Spanish Colonial mansion that is part of the city’s cultural heritage, and its foundations, which are of original Incan construction, form part of the hotel’s walls. The Cuatro Bustos Mansion, as the building is known in Cusco because its front door is adorned with the busts of the Salas Valdez family that lived there after Gonzalo Pizarro, also has a Colonial art exhibit; this section is being remodeled in order for the hotel’s guests to enjoy it more.

In addition, some of the rooms have been enlarged, and their entire interior design redone to give them a more colonial look. New beds have also been installed (with modern, comfortable new mattress and bedding), LCD TVs, and iPod docks, thus these rooms are on par with those found in the Tambo del Inka or Hotel Paracas, two hotels in Peru run by the Luxury Collection brand.

Palacio del Inka now boasts a 500 m2 spa with highly trained staff and treatments designed to relax and to reinvigorate our guests so they can go out and enjoy the beautiful city of Cusco. Moreover, the restaurant has been totally reworked and now looks out over the interior patio; it offers a delicious menu of the best of Peruvian and Novoandina cuisine, the latter emphasizing native ingredients.

Starting this June, Palacio del Inka will begin a new era as Palacio del Inka, a Luxury Collection Hotel.
