I was always convinced that promoting tourism was a good alternative for encouraging others to value our heritage and fostering rural development, while obviously taking the local traditional culture into account. For this reason, and because there are hundreds of reasons to be proud of Peru, I've been exploring routes and promoting attractions from different regions for the past seven years.
I believe I chose the right way to get the world to learn more about the treasures that lie within this country. The number of tourists who come to this magical, generous, unique Inca land is increasing exponentially, a huge encouragement for those of us who are a part of making this happen, and for those of us who hold a deep love for Peru.
At COLTUR we also share the hope and desire for a better Peru day by day, and for this reason we are committed and we make an effort to be the best in advising our clients, with the sole purpose of offering them a unique experience featuring ancestral ways of life, surrounded by amazing landscapes, while contributing to the development of the area. A trip with style.
I have to admit that I love handmade artwork, and I have been blessed by Peruvian crafts, which are some of the most varied in the world. The diversity, color, beauty, tenderness and innocent wisdom of the pieces are worthy of our admiration, since they contain centuries of history and identity expressed in shapes and symbols. This should be reason enough to value the great wealth contained deep within Peru, but there is so much more to see and do, such as:
Sailing down the Amazon to a hidden lodge, or traveling on a luxury cruise in the Amazon rainforest, or lying down on the beach and get a relaxing massage on one of our warm northern beaches. Enjoying exquisite cuisine and learning how to cook it. Letting yourself be spoiled by the women of Chinchero, who will make you smile and sigh more than a few times with their simplicity, candor, and one-of-a-kind charm. Joining a group of communal farmers and harvest your first potatoes in the mountains by digging your own hands into the earth. Forget cars and your routine while you're in an island of peace in the middle of Lake Titicaca. There are truly no better feelings than these.
Today, in many ways, I feel more Peruvian than ever, thanks to Peru's millennial history and culture which has bequeathed us with priceless monuments and objects. We invite you to be a part of our history.
