I've been working in the travel industry for quite a few years, and I can say that my biggest discovery has been learning about the importance of personalized service. We don't compete over rates. Peru has thousands of agencies that could offer the same itinerary and almost at the same price. What makes a customer choose us is the fact that they feel special, and not just another person on a client list. Customers can tell when your effort is just part of the job you're doing, or if it's a part of you, a part of your vocation for service. When customers know how important they are to us, this is reflected in their loyalty.
For me, the most important thing in serving a customer is empathy, putting myself in his or her shoes, that their needs become my needs. This is the only way to ensure that I am providing the BEST service, because I'm doing it as if for myself or for a beloved relative.
If you ask me why I would visit Peru, the answer is easy: because we are a wonder of the world! Because of our history, our culture, our food and OUR PEOPLE.
My favorite place to visit is definitely Cusco, not just because of its attractions, which are very interesting and draw the attention of millions of tourists from all over the world, but also because of its magic, that revitalizing feeling that it conveys. When you leave Cusco, you feel energized, ready to plan your return trip.
